Our Organization
The Peony Project has been an idea that was simmering for many years. Carmela d'Unienville thought of the idea in 2016 in her grade 11 year. It took 5 years and the current state of the world for her to realize that there is a desperate need for Empathy and Acceptance which, can be created through Education.
This content is produced through Social Media Content (Blogs, Inspiration Companies/People, Informational Glossary posts), and videos where all people from different backgrounds, ethnic groups, cultures, genders, sexualities, disability status, economic status, etc. have the opportunity to discuss prejudices and have open, respectful conversations in a safe space, about their personal struggles and experiences.
All the videos are released on social media platforms (such as; Instagram, Youtube and Facebook) to make the content more easily and readily accessible. We live in a world where fake news is prominent, which is what ultimately creates unfair and discriminatory prejudices. It is apparent that most people get their information and news from social media platforms which allows for fake news to circulate - so why not hear opinions, views, and necessary information from the horse's mouth?

The Peony Project hopes to release the first episode of a limited documentary series called The Politics of Patriarchy where various subjects such as patriarchy, gender inequality, pretty privilege, female pleasure, and discrimination of all forms are addressed. Stay tuned for that!
The aim of this is to create more empathic and educated generations. Both ladies are working together to create awareness about important topics and problems that are rife within our societies, communities, and world!
